Cedele all day dining

It is hard to find good pancakes in Singapore.
Branch places tout pancakes all over their menus but of the ones I have tried, only Skyve's ones were memorable.

So when it comes down to pancakes, Cedele's apple cinnamon ones are an old favorite. Just the right size and who can say no to anything with apple cinnamon.

Btw, I cant count the number of times I had a pumpkin meal at Cedele (pumpkin bread + pumpkin soup) its just soo good.

Arnold's Fried Chicken

I was excited when I chanced upon Arnold's Fried Chicken in Pasir Ris. I had it once years ago, at its famous City Plaza outlet and I remember it to be good.

The express outlet wasnt bad, great seasoning on the chicken though somehow I cant help but feel that it taste better at its original outlet. Strange thing - the set meals for 2 are more expensive than if one orders 2 individual set meals. Someone got their economics backwards.

Habitat Coffee

Very cosy and homely place along Upper Thomson Road.
Coffee and food wise, average quality. I am guessing it is frequented by those who live nearby.
I on the other hand am an eastie so probably once is more than enough

The Big Ben (Scrambled eggs ben, sausage, grilled tomato and hashbrown)

Pretty decent truffle fries, I like my fries with cheese on top be it grated or melted

Ham and cheese. Focaccia was nice and fluffy :)

Long Phung

Located on the seemingly never-ending streets of Joo Chiat road,  Long Phung serves the best Vietnamese food I have ever had. For some reason, Joo Chiat is full of Vietnamese restaurant but dont get confused, Long Phung is the only one with the long queue. The place is not big and tables are pretty squashed together so be prepared to wait.

The place is no frills no fuss, dont expect stellar service as even the servers there seem to be vietnamese and arent exactly fluent in English but in true Singaporean style, with food like that, everything is forgiven.

Spring rolls with the freshest of ingredients. Definitely go for the fried ones, crispy, crunchy and addictive.

Darn good cockles with garlic. I love cockles and these stir-fried with garlic had a sweet fragrant taste.

The special beef pho. Kick-ass soup. Super satisfying

Dry noodles with pork and lots of fresh veg. Darn good with the sweet spicy sauce drizzled in.

Great food at reasonable prices (no gst, no service charge!). Go crazy.

Peach Garden

Not impressed with dim sum at Peach Garden.
Quality was average and everything served was cold. The best dish that day was probably the XO carrot cake.

Maki San

Maki San is a DIY sushi/salad bar and in true Japanese style, it is adorable.

The little coaster they give you when you place an order. How cute is the font

My salad (with the cute stickers!). I like the salad alot, it was very fresh and I like the variety of ingredients I got to choose from. This includes the japanese sweet potato, asparagus and nice sweet sesame dressing. Only gripe was that the only veg base available was lettuce.

Would come back again to try the sushi rolls

Ryoshi Sushi Ikeikemaru

Been seeing so many positive posts about this place and so I had to try it. Helps that I work just 10 mins away from Liang Court :)

Ryoshi is a conveyer belt sushi restaurant but rest assure that the quality and type of sushi offer is way different from the typical conveyer belt chains that we are so familiar with.

Prices are roughly similar to the typical chain restaurants but at a a decidedly higher quality. So yet, Ryoshi is definitely worth a try! I mean just compare the size of the salmon sushi to the ones you get at Sakae. (The plates above are $2.80 each)

This place has pretty interesting stuff. We tried the kani miso which is basically the essence of a crab and I loved the intense seafood taste of this.

Udon was fantastic. I think it was homemade? Springy noodles with a flavorful broth, hits the spot.

Equinox : High Tea

The high tea buffet at Equinox only runs from 330pm - 5pm so be there on time. Not satisfied with giving customers only 1.5 hours to eat, staff there started clearing the buffet line at about 4.30pm, including cutting off supply of tea.
Pretty ridiculous service for a place that  belongs to a  5-stars hotel.

The best thing about the meal was the view. Gorgeous landscape of Singapore, it was relaxing watching the world go by as you sip on your tea.

Food was pedestrian at best. Best dish was probably the laksa and even that, I can get much better at Katong. I enjoyed 1for 1 dining privileges with my Feed@Raffles Card (now FAR card) and even then, I thought it wasnt worth it.
